Dr. Pellegrini-Masini is a long-time horse lover.

She started riding horses in her childhood in Lucca, her Italian hometown. During her youth she worked as a groom in the show jumping and eventing circles and volunteered as a vet scribe in endurance races.

Along with the love for horses goes the passion for veterinary medicine and learning: after obtaining her veterinary degree in 1997 at the University of Pisa, Italy, Dr. Pellegrini-Masini completed a post-graduate program in Equine Exercise Physiology that led to her PhD degree on 2000.

Her special interest in equine internal medicine took her to the US in 2001, were she completed an internship at Cornell University Large Animal Hospital and a medicine residency at New Bolton Center, University of Pennsylvania. This specialty training led her to certify as a diplomate with the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Large Animal Medicine Internal Medicine specialty).

After working several years in academia, overseeing the care of hospitalized horses and the training of veterinary students, Dr. Pellegrini-Masini started her own practice in South-Central PA (Mechanicsburg). The practice is focused on equine internal medicine consulting service, breeding and neonatology, and  acupuncture.

Dr. Pellegrini-Masini completed her training with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) in 2023 and is excited to offer this integrative medicine modality to her patients.

In her free time Dr. Pellegrini-Masini loves to spend time with her husband, daughter, son and with her small herd of pets that includes three horses, a dog and a cat.
